Fey or faeries are often referred to by the common people as elves or goblins, but those are just the two most commonly encountered types of the vast variety of creatures that are fey, because the defining feature of the fey is that they are created by thought alone. The physical presence is therefore just a byproduct of their ego, and as a result their form will change and morph at the whim of their thoughts. Even their realm of faerie is just a creation of thought, and is only maintained from the stuff of chaos because the fey will it to remain. Fey are immortal, unless they decide to die. They are mercurial and inconstant, as one thought suceeds another, and indeed they have little in the way of a consistent personality. They live from moment to moment. They say of themselves they are how they are because of the presssures of immortality – if they were consistent and predictable, then the long ages of the world would weigh to heavy on them. Thus the only response is to retreat into whimsy and caprice.
All fey are pained and poisoned by the touch of iron, which represents the order of the world. They are little affected by glamour though, and are great glamour-workers themselves.
In game terms, they take double damage from unenchanted iron weapons, and half damage from spells and magical weapons.
